Medicine painting workshops are more than a paint class. They are an opportunity to go on a medicine journey where paint and canvas are the mediums. These workshops are offered in a one-one-one setting, allowing you to dive deep into a healing process in an area of life that is seeking shift and is that ready to open to greater awareness.
Each class is facilitated by Cristin True Whiting, Intentional Creativity teacher, psychologist, shamanic practitioner, and yoga teacher. True's breadth of experience and training allows her to lead participants through a deep exploration of themselves, guiding them into expanded awareness of their consciousness and wisdom through the oracle of the painting they create.
Workshops are eight hours, divided into two four-hour sessions across two consecutive days. In addition to painting, you will be guided in meditations and journeys, journaling, and wanders on the landscape. Sessions may also include yogic movement and individual Systemic Constellations as would facilitate your process.
True has taught these workshops to people with no painting experience and to people with formal art training. No two workshops are the same because True tailors them to facilitate each participant's inquiry, adapting the process moment to moment to meet the shifts in co-creative consciousness.
The cost for each workshop is $640 + $60 to cover the cost of supplies. This includes 8-hours of personalized instruction with a workshop created uniquely for your to facilitate the intention you seek for your workshop. It also includes all of the materials you will need for painting: paint, canvas, brushes and other tools. Students provide a journal and pen, their own snacks, and clothes appropriate for painting.
Two paths are currently offered in these workshops: Explorations in Consciousness and The Archetype of The Lover. You can find more information about them in the Paths section.
Workshop Paths

Explorations In Consciousness
In this workshop, students will experience a medicine journey with paint and canvas as the medium. Students will explore their creativity, self-expression and inner landscape with the opportunity to bring healing to areas of life that are important to them.
Students will be guided with prompts to take them deeper into their creative and healing process opening into freedom of expression. They will be supported to make contact with spirit guides and healing ancestors through the painting process, as well as through journaling, journeying and wanders on the land.
The purpose of this workshop is not to create a finished piece in particular but rather to open one's awareness, expand one's consciousness and to receive messaging only possible through the creative-spiritual realm.

The Archetype of The Lover
One of the greatest creative expressions we have is the creation of ourselves and our own lives.
So often people get pulled into living lives that are not authentic to them. It is so easy to live according to artificial constructs of time that are not in rhythm with one's own body and wellness. It is so easy to get pulled into multi-tasking and efficiency, care-taking and expectation. Feelings of guilt and selfishness can arise at the idea of living in the flow of pleasure, creativity, awareness and aliveness.
The archetype of The Lover invites us back into flow, back into relationship with ourselves, with pleasure, with sensuality and with Life.
But this class is not all about pleasure. For students of this workshop, exploration of the Lover also opened the fields of body awareness, one's relationship with sexuality, aging, motherhood, creativity, spirituality, religion, food, appetite, life purpose and self worth.
Ultimately, this workshop is more than a painting class. It is about making contact with The Lover within, rewriting self-limiting narratives, and creating an image on canvas that reflects one's true being.
